Decorations!

Yaaay! It's really starting to feel like Christmas now! I decorated the house with lots of very nice Christmas decorations. The kitchen has snowflakes, and I even got to put some "snow/frost" on the windows by the table! It looks soo cool! *Sigh of happiness* I can't even believe that it's pretty much two weeks till Christmas! I haven't gotten presents yet... maybe soon I can do that. =D

Turkey Day

Almost a week till Thanksgiving!! I can't wait. It'll be so much fun! Hehe, we will be going to my grandparent's house. I love the smell of the foods cooking, and just all of the nice treats. Pumpkin pie, turkey, sparkling cider, cranberry sauce, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, green beans, corn, pecan pie, and apple pie. Dad gets a four-day weekend, so that's very nice for him I bet. Maybe in about two weeks we can start decorating for Christmas! =D That's also very very fun!

Done with Highschool!

Hehe,exciting. On Saturday I'll be having my graduation ceremony, and also an open house for people to visit and rejoice with us. Hehe. So now I can start concentrating on getting things set up with Uncle Lenny so he can teach me some graphic arts and some training in drawing. I'll also be looking around online for some online and correspondence courses in the art department. And during spare time I'll be studying other things of interest. (Hehe, like microbiology and astronomy) ;)

Autumn

Autumn is finally and truely here!! Yesterday and Saturday Mom and I went to the store and bought some fall decorations for the house. We bought pumkins, leaves, ribbon, and some other fun stuff. And it was nice and cool yesterday. Today it's rainy though, so I have some candles lit in my room. =D I can't wait for Thanksgiving!!

Rootbeer Floats

Mmmm! So on Saturday evening Katie and I took a quick excursion to Sonic where she got a Cherry Coke, "With a cherry, please", and I got a lovely Rootbeer Float. Those things are just amazing! I like them 'cause the ice cream makes the soda get frozen, and it tastes sooo heavenly! Anyways, yeah, I'd been craving one for a while now, so I was finally able to get one with Katie. So fun, hehe, and we got to spend some time together, which was lovely too. =D Thanks dearest!

Wow...

Christy and Josh have been married a week today!! Congrats!! I'm so happy for them. I hope that they've been having a very very nice time on their honeymoon. The wedding was very beautiful! Bridal Shower

Yesterday was Christy's bridal shower! She got lots of really neat stuff. Hehe. It was very pretty too. The rose petals and the dresses were my favorite parts of the decorations. Slacker?

Okay so maybe I have been a slacker, but only in regards to blogging. Hehe. I am very happy to say that I am pretty much done with Worldviews of the Western World! All that's left is reading Lord of the Rings and the Silmarillion. Then I have to write an essay after reading them. I'm going to skim over the books, or try to anyways. Hehe. Since Worldview is pretty much done, all I have left is General Science, Math, and English.

On the 17th I was baptised! I was very excited. My dear sister Katie took pictures. I would put a picture, but for some reason my computer has been wacky about putting photos up, or even sending them as an attachment for any email. Oh well..

Moved Out

On Sunday Katie moved to her new house. =) It's a pretty sweet set up she has there, with all of her nice Oriental decorations and all that. Hehe. I helped her move things into her room and helped set some stuff up. It sounds like tonight she's going to get some nice people (possibly the engaged persons) *wink* to help put some shelves on her walls. Monday night we, that is Christy and I, went shopping with her for them. They're very nice! They match the room well. Anyways, yeppers, so she's all moved out and getting adjusted for when the intern girls come. =)

Baggage Claim A16...

Baggage Claim A16, In DFW Airport


Eagerly expecting the arrival of their father, the Emerick family stood looking for him at the entrance to baggage claim A16. None of them knew which entrance he'd come through, so they walked back and forth from one end to the other several times, deciding which entrance to be closer to. Finally they went to the left end of the baggage claim, hoping they were in the right place.

After several minutes of waiting, they decided to look at the flight information again, wanting to make sure that the arrival time had not changed over the course of their approximate 10 minute wait."Arrivals: Chicago to DALL/FTW 9:13, Now."


Okay, to make a long story short, we waited quite a while before we saw Dad some into the claim area. But finally he did arrive and we were all glad to see him. =) We even picked up his luggage before he even showed up. Anyways, yep! He's back now, and he brought back some nice chai tea, dates with cashews in them, some pinapple jam, and a few othere things. =)

Scrapbooking...

I've started on my graduation scrapbook finally! I still need to get some pictures printed off of Snapfish though. That'll be exciting! Hehe, I love getting pictures in the mail... Anyways, enough about pictures in the mail, this is about the scrapbook, or so I thought. I've already gotten at least three pages laid out that I've set things up on. I'll probably adjust them a bit before I glue them on. I was hoping to have been baptised by now because I'd wanted to have those pictures in my graduation scrapbook because that's special, but alas and Alaska, that was canceled due to rain... (I was already going to get dunked, right?...)Hehe, and I was hoping also to have my baptism as a surprise to friends, but that "cat" has been "let out of the bag" as of right now. But anyways, I'm excited to make it! It'll be a lot of fun and I'll be able to have it for a really really long time.

Okay, so it's the day after, but I say it still counts. I was soo glad that it was actually sunny yesterday! It was just beautiful outside, all nice and sparkly 'cause it's been raining all week. Our family mostly hung out together, talked, had lunch, and such. Mom and Grandma made hamburgers, potato salad (of which is always the best tasting in the world), and corn. Later on we had ice cream too. Katie and Patrick went to a friend's house for a while. Then, in the evening, us kids got to head to the Lewisville mall and got to watch fire works. The best part of the day!! It's always fun to be hanging out together while waiting for the show. Anyways, so that was my Independence day celebration, and it was really fun!

Economics

It's soo interesting! Well okay, maybe not for all of you but I like it. There's a book called Economics In One Lesson by Henry Hazlitt. It explains all about economics and how it works in a general overview. He compares the government solutions to short term effects and long term effects. The main thing he says is to always look at long term results even if short term results seem to be bad. Anyways, I've always thought economics was rather interesting. =)

No-Bake Cookies

I just got finished making these cookies and have put them on a piece of wax paper to set. These are the best cookies ever invented! They're too delicious to pass up when you see the recipe lying on the counter. They're oat chocolate cookies that have been delectably enhanced by the peanut butter that is in the recipe. Another reason, I'm sure, is that we have Hersey's cocoa powder that we use. Oh, and it calls for 2 cups of sugar, and 1 tablespoon of corn syrup (aka sugar). ;) Like I said, the best cookies ever invented!

(Okay, you can call me Cookie Monster if you'd like, hehe)

Hehe, well it wasn't A&W last night but it was Barq's rootbeer at Sonic. They had free (repeat, free!) rootbeer floats from 8pm till 12 am! Mom and Dad were really nice and took Patrick and I there to get one. And boy were they packed out till at least 10:30! (We arrived at 10) Now we know what time to get them if we want one next year. They are sooo yummy! It's creamy when the ice cream is in with the rootbeer, and just soo spectacular! We also saw some friends there while were there too. Hehe, to quote her: "Happy floating!" Anyways, that was the second highlight of my day, besides the Horizon organic chocolate milk.

So, I joined her. =D I was pretty happy that they had organic Horizon chocolate milk left in the fridge. Anyways, my day was quite complete while I was drinking it. It's soooooo smooth and just too good to resist!

Retreat!! Retreat!

This is a cry you'd hear in a battle when one side is losing or when they need to regroup so as to have a stronger force when they end up as the minority. But in the case of this past Memorial weekend, it was a cry of joy. Everyone got Friday off, as well as Memorial day, and we all headed down to Huntsville, Texas to enjoy a bit of a rest and fun times. =) Mostly I was just hanging out and took some pictures. But I also got to do some swimming, soccer, and a few other things. The guys on Saturday all did a serious game of Basketball and some of us watched them play. It was quite fun to watch, and I still can't believe they played for two hours! And then some of them played soccer right after. Hehe, wow, talk about lots of energy! (Or some might think), ;) Oh and not to mention all of the rain we got.. *sniff* *sniff* I have a cold now... Well, I'm sure that it's own fault that I have it, hehe, I played soccer in the rain, and was rather damp most of the day. Yay for coffee at dinner!! It was a life saver.. =)

Philosophy

If you're ever interested in a quick overview of western philosophy, you should read Sophie's World. It's pretty good at summing things up about what (for example) Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle thought. It goes through the ages, starting with them, then continues on. I don't agree with some of the assumptions that the author has put in his book, but in general it explains things very well. =) It's even better when you don't have to write notes on it, hehe. ;)

Fire! Fire!


Or maybe not? You never know...

Yesterday the office had a fire drill. I'm sure most knew it was a fire drill, but we're always to treat is as a real fire 'cause like I said "You never know". This drill was the second drill I'd been through. It's quite exhilarating actually, if you're ready for some midday action. Hehe. =) So yeah, there I was working away, when all of a sudden! *FLASH*! *BEEEEP*! *BEEEEP*! *FLASH*! The alarms are quite ear piercing.. literally.. *rubs ear*. The sound can stay in your head for a week if it wanted to. Hehe. Anyways, so we all left our work desks and headed outside to our department coordinators to let them know we were all out of the department. Yes, so that was the exciting part of the day yesterday, I didn't expect there to be a drill. (Hmm... well I suppose that's the point..) ;)

Today's washing

Whew! *pant* *pant* Wow, washing can take a lot out of you! Hehe, it's fun though. I got a shirt from a friend of mine a little while ago and it had to be washed first before I could wear it. It's all black, and boy, does it have a lot of black dye. Hehe, I soaked it a little bit in vinegar before I started to wash it, so that the dye doesn't bleed as bad. Anyways, that's today's washing story. (Right now it's drying in the dryer so I can wear it).

Blue Angels



So today I read on CNN that Lieutenant Commander Kevin Davis, of the Navy's Blue Angels aviation performance team, died on Saturday during the last bit of an airshow performance in South Carolina. The plane clipped a tree and it crashed. The explosion left only hand sized pieces of the plane scattered everywhere. It was sad to hear, since I'd seen them perform one time, but also because the team has lost a close member and friend.

Fun and pretty day

Yesterday was a very nice day. The sky was all nice and blue, so I got some peeps to go and walk around for a while to enjoy the pretty scenery. =D Oh and I found out that when my sandals are wet, they sound like duckies quacking... hehehe, it's pretty funny.

Last night I also got to watch the great movie Spiderman 2. =D It was a blast, it's the best so far, I can't wait till the third one comes out. Thanks for the fun times you all!

Well, water doesn't exactly flow right off my back like ducks in a lake, hehe, as I found out this morning. It was already sprinkling a little but while I was out there the drops got bigger, so I retreated and went inside. I would have loved to say out there just a little longer but I was afraid it'd start pouring majorly. =) I'm glad it's been raining a bit recently, the plants need it, and it makes the world look more colourful and cheery in the evening's sunset light. =D Hehe too bad I hadn't been wearing my A&W shirt.. hehe, I had thought of that song Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head when it started to rain. It always reminds me of when a few of us get together at A&W too. =D Let the good times roll...

The secret life of a duck

yeah okay, i must admit that i am somewhat lazy. ;) this past weekend i got to just hang out at my grandparents house. hehe. it was fun to just not really have any pressing appointments or activities for a few days. =) the night before i was really busy with a program i was in. i did some dancing for it, and i practiced hard during the day. it was nice =) but hard work. so, i had coffee a few times on saturday and sunday. (carmel machiatto from Barns & Noble one time) hehe. O=) we also watch some Mythbuster episodes on the Discovery Channel and some other interesting shows. yep, so i am lazy... ;) (but it was well deserved)

Today is a beautiful day out! I love spring days.. hehe, yesterday I even saw some little birds already starting to build a nest. It is nice a breezy out and not too hot. Un "choix" sante, bon appetite! That is to say " 'Food' to live by, enjoy!"

Rubber Duckies

In case you were wondering, the "Yellow World" part in my blog title comes from the idea that since duckies are yellow, they see from yellow eyes. (Okay, okay, so most have blue painted eyes on them but in fact they are still yellow behind the paint. Oh, and they don't actually see.. but that depends on how you look at it. Hehe, pun intended too). At least we don't "all live in a yellow submarine" as the Beatles song goes... hehe that'd be hard.. =) Well, I do admit, and happily, that I love rubber duckies. =D They just bring joy into your day in an instant. Some my disagree with me but, that's them. Kinda like Johnny Jump Ups. I have a whole collection of duckies in my house. Too bad I couldn't have a whole collection of Johnny Jump Ups too.. hehe alas, they only last for the winter and have to be planted every year. A friend of mine gave me some very nice Johnny Jump Ups for Christmas! That was very very nice. Well, aurevoir till next time. =D Go look at some duckies today and be happy.
