Retreat!! Retreat!

This is a cry you'd hear in a battle when one side is losing or when they need to regroup so as to have a stronger force when they end up as the minority. But in the case of this past Memorial weekend, it was a cry of joy. Everyone got Friday off, as well as Memorial day, and we all headed down to Huntsville, Texas to enjoy a bit of a rest and fun times. =) Mostly I was just hanging out and took some pictures. But I also got to do some swimming, soccer, and a few other things. The guys on Saturday all did a serious game of Basketball and some of us watched them play. It was quite fun to watch, and I still can't believe they played for two hours! And then some of them played soccer right after. Hehe, wow, talk about lots of energy! (Or some might think), ;) Oh and not to mention all of the rain we got.. *sniff* *sniff* I have a cold now... Well, I'm sure that it's own fault that I have it, hehe, I played soccer in the rain, and was rather damp most of the day. Yay for coffee at dinner!! It was a life saver.. =)

Make Way For Ducklings

We used to own this book, so whenever I see a picture of it or see the book it brings back memories of Mom reading it to me when I was little. =) It's a great book for little ones, it's very cute and the drawings are very nice.

Do you some times feel...

...Like the odd one out?

Hehe, there's no major point to this post, but I thought this was a cute picture. Enjoy all!

Philosophy

If you're ever interested in a quick overview of western philosophy, you should read Sophie's World. It's pretty good at summing things up about what (for example) Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle thought. It goes through the ages, starting with them, then continues on. I don't agree with some of the assumptions that the author has put in his book, but in general it explains things very well. =) It's even better when you don't have to write notes on it, hehe. ;)

Mother's Day

I know it's not Mother's Day anymore, but I wanted to say "Happy Mother's Day" anyways. =) So, happy Mother's Day.

We got Mom a nice Starbucks cup and it's got some spring flowers on it. We also got her a gift card too. Hehe. She likes them.

Fire! Fire!

Or maybe not? You never know...

Yesterday the office had a fire drill. I'm sure most knew it was a fire drill, but we're always to treat is as a real fire 'cause like I said "You never know". This drill was the second drill I'd been through. It's quite exhilarating actually, if you're ready for some midday action. Hehe. =) So yeah, there I was working away, when all of a sudden! *FLASH*! *BEEEEP*! *BEEEEP*! *FLASH*! The alarms are quite ear piercing.. literally.. *rubs ear*. The sound can stay in your head for a week if it wanted to. Hehe. Anyways, so we all left our work desks and headed outside to our department coordinators to let them know we were all out of the department. Yes, so that was the exciting part of the day yesterday, I didn't expect there to be a drill. (Hmm... well I suppose that's the point..) ;)

Oh, do ya like my picture? Hehe =) It's pretty cool. (Whoops, I mean "hot") =P

Today's washing

Whew! *pant* *pant* Wow, washing can take a lot out of you! Hehe, it's fun though. I got a shirt from a friend of mine a little while ago and it had to be washed first before I could wear it. It's all black, and boy, does it have a lot of black dye. Hehe, I soaked it a little bit in vinegar before I started to wash it, so that the dye doesn't bleed as bad. Anyways, that's today's washing story. (Right now it's drying in the dryer so I can wear it).
