Shout to the Lord

17 years ago, at age 9, I first heard these words:

"My Jesus, my Savior
Lord, there is none like You
All of my days, I want to praise
The wonders of Your mighty love
My comfort, my shelter
Tower of refuge and strength
Let every breath, all that I am
Never cease to worship You!
Shout to the Lord, all the earth, let us sing!
Power and majesty, praise to the King
Mountains bow down and the seas will roar
At the sound of Your name
I sing for joy at the work of Your hands!
Forever I'll love You, forever I'll stand
Nothing compares to the promise I have in You!"

What captured me in this song was the portrayal of the power of Jesus though His name in the earth and His glory displayed in creation.  The fact that I could actually be in the presence of such might because God allowed me was (and still is) awe-inspiring.

I didn't realize at the time why it impacted me so much. I understand now that it was because it explained the security, refuge, and love I desired to have for all of my life, and I could find it fulfilled in Almighty God because He loves me unconditionally. That is His promise He'll always keep.  This truly inspires me to never cease worshiping Him!
